Extraordinary Marriage: God's Plan for Your Journey
Author: Rodney Wilson & Selma Wilson
Leader: Pam Wall
Cost: $10
Extraordinary Marriage casts a vision of God's out-of-this-world design for marital intimacy, challenges couples to never again settle for an ordinary relationship, and provides the practical guidance couples need to develop their own kingdom-focused marriage plan. Once they understand the extraordinary plan that God has for their marriages, husbands and wives will never again settle for less than God's best. This dynamic study paints a compelling vision of an achievable future—and provides a step-by-step plan for couples to evaluate their own marriage and work toward that vision.

BUCKETS OF HOPE

Many have been asking what we can do for the people of Haiti. We have just received information from our association that the North American Mission Board and Disaster Relief is sponsoring a project called "Buckets of Hope." This is a way to get food to the people of Haiti. The 5-gallon bucket will be filled with rice, black beans, sugar, flour, peanut butter, cooking oil, and spaghetti noodles. In addition to the food, the Haitians will find many uses for the bucket. The estimated cost for these items including the bucket is $30. Additionally, it is estimated to cost $10 to ship the bucket. This makes the total cost of each bucket to be $40. Since exact identical items must be used, the association is asking us to give the money for the cost of each bucket. It will be sent to the associational office where the items will be purchased and packed. The deadline for Buckets of Hope is March 15. The Buckets will then be ready to start their journey via Florida to Haiti. The associational office will need our money by Monday, March 1 in order to have time to purchase the items and pack the buckets. There are 36 churches in the North Spartan Association and a goal of at least 300 buckets has been set. Pray for guidance in what you need to give. Perhaps Sunday School classes would also like to purchase buckets.

HEALTH KITS

It's time once again to begin collecting our bath towels for the health kits packed by churches in our association. The health kits include a toothbrush, soap, bath towel, washcloth, toothpaste and comb. Our church provides at least 25 bath towels. The kits provide some of the necessities for migrant workers and others in need while opening hearts to relationships and removing barriers to sharing the gospel. They will be used in our communities and regions to help witness to people in need. You can place your towels in the box in the back hallway. If you desire to give money to purchase towels, please mark your envelope "Towels."

STATE DISASTER RELIEF TRAINING

The next training opportunity for Disaster Relief for South Carolina Southern Baptist is being held at Anderson University March 5-6. Four training sessions will be offered (2 on Fri. and 2 on Sat). A special session will be offered on Saturday from 9-12 noon on "How to Prepare to Respond to Haiti. Conference fees are $20 for returning volunteers and $25.00 for new volunteers. Celebrating 20 years of the Ministry of Disaster Relief in SC, we now have 130 units and 6500 trained volunteers. Remember all DR volunteers must be credentialed with new IDs that are essential for security purposes. Homeland security is cracking down on who can and cannot enter disaster areas. We need to be prepared and attached to teams and units so that when a call out happens we will have a better chance to serve. If you have any questions, please contact Keith or Kaye Rollins.
